Montréal's transit network, drawn through the trails its vehicles leave behind.
Sillage brings together more than 25 million recorded positions, tracking buses and aircraft at 20-second intervals during selected periods in 2026, alongside schedule-simulated métro, REM, and commuter rail services.
Colour distinguishes each mode of transport, drawing from the official palettes of Montréal's transit operators, while brightness reflects vehicle speed. This site presents a series of curated scenes rendered from the recorded data. Run the project locally to query the full archive across arbitrary time windows.
